As a Nationally Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed School Counselor, I utilize cognitive behavioral/solution focused techniques. I focus on assisting clients to identify and build upon strengths, helping clients accomplish mental health, behavioral, wellness, education, and career goals. As CEO and Founder of Impact Counseling and Consulting I am blessed to have worked with and continue to work with many youth from the Grand Rapids and Greater Grand Rapids area, San Antonio Texas Area, and Nationally. Bringing cutting edge technology with the latest in counseling options through virtual sessions as well as traditional face-to-face counseling options. I currently run the Grand Rapids Michigan and San Antonio Texas Office serving both civilian and Military families.

Tamara Spears, LMSW

Tamara Spears

Tamara Spears grew up in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Grand Rapids Michigan in 1990 to pursue her college degree in Human Services.  In 1994, Tamara acquired a B.A. Degree from Aquinas College in Social Sciences and in 2003 obtained her Masters of Social Work from
Western Michigan University.  Tamara is professionally and fully licensed in the State of Michigan as an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).  Her treatment Approach includes CBT, DBT, ACT and Spiritual Counseling in the format of
individual, couples, and group therapy. 

Tamara has dedicated over 30 combined years in social advocacy and clinical therapy.  She has successfully worked in various settings including, community outreach, outpatient, inpatient, and residential care facilities. Tamara also has experience providing services to consumers of all ages via homebased mental health programs, judicial courts, foster care, schools settings, and
domestic violence agencies. 

In July 2020, Tamara took a leap of faith and left her 17-year career with Pine Rest CMHS to start New Beginnings Therapy and Consulting Services, PLLC. This new group practice affords Tamara the opportunity to provide therapy to adults, adolescents, couples and families and to
precept Doctoral Level Psychiatric Nursing Students with Michigan State University as well as provide consultation, mentorship and/or practicum placement for Master Level Psychologist, Counselors and Social Workers.  Tamara is also in the process of growing her practice to include 10 therapist and 2 Mental Health Nurse Practitioner’s. 

Tamara works from a holistic perspective and takes in consideration the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of each person. In November, 2020, Tamara was ordained as a Certified Minister by the Universal Life Church. Tamara finds this ordination rewarding as she is
able to integrate her client’s faith practices and beliefs into their therapy sessions. Tamara enjoys finding creative ways to engage her clients in the therapeutic process and helping families improve their relationships.  Her disposition is warm and compassionate.  She creates a safe space for her clients to reclaim their peace, joy, motivation and productivity. When she is not working, she enjoys volunteering for social events in underserved communities and spending time with her family who inspires her to do what she loves.

Tamara gives credit for her success to her three mentors’: Jesus Christ; Rev. Bernice Spears (her mom); and Dr. Valencia Agnew, Ph.D. (Business Coach/Mentor).

(Pronounced “C”). I am a certified Life Coach through Empowered Coach Academy, accredited by the International Accreditation Organization Certifying World-Class Coaching, iaocwc.org. As a certified Life Coach, I specialize in helping people of ALL ages overcome their challenges and creating the life they desire. As a champion for personal and professional development, my passion is to help you on your journey to make sustainable changes to become the best version of yourself and live a fulfilling life.

I am the Director San Antonio Guide Right Program of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity INC., a national youth mentoring program promoting and developing the leadership potential of youth throughout the San Antonio Metroplex. Under my direction, the program has two award-winning programs, the Senior Kappa League, established for high school-age young men, and the Junior Kappa League for middle school-age young men—each program designed to inspire youth to develop their leadership talents and become successful in life.

I am also retired military (US Air Force) with a proven record of career and professional development of members from all services and is currently a civilian service employee providing career mentorship and guidance to the Army Medical Service Corps.

Martha Rice

 

Martha Rice, Owner/Founder of Complete ‘N Him and Professional Certified Life and Health Coach, certified by the standards of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a trained Counselor. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Roosevelt University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. In 2019, attained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification at More Stream University which is a continuous improvement methodology that seeks to improve performance. 

She is currently, affiliated with APA (American Psychology Association), ICF (International Coach Federation) and AAMFT (American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy) organizations, which provide ongoing training for my growth at Complete ‘N Him.

Her gifting and passion for helping others has led her to a career in Coaching. Coaching allows a person to discover their distinct qualities that reveal their authentic self. Martha’s goal is to collaborate and empower her clients to move in the direction that they desire to go. She does this by respecting her client’s core values and inspiring them to create their vision for growth. She believes that open communication and authenticity are an essential part in reducing anxiety and eliciting growth. 

The name of the company was inspired by the Holy Spirit and comes from the scripture below which aligns with her core beliefs.

She believes that Jesus Christ died for our sins and has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit, which makes us complete in Him.

My name is Craig Washington and I am a Christian Life Coach. I specialize in counseling and mentoring from teens to adults. I have been in ministry for over 25 years, I have worked as a Youth Pastor, and currently Co-Pastor of The Bread House Holland Church in Holland MI. I love helping people reach their spiritual objectives in life using the word of God “the Bible”. I obtained my certification from the International Association of Professional Career College.

One of my beliefs is that you need to have strong relationship with God and along with faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. I encourage everyone to look beyond their faults and soar like eagles above their difficulties, hurts, pains, issues of life and find love, joy, and peace.

Mr. Henderson serves as an Executive Leadership Coach and a Conflict Coach for the United States Government (USG). Executive Leadership Coaching focuses particularly on challenges that senior leaders of the government are having. Conflict Coaching falls under the Office of the General Counsel and primarily focuses on conflict resolution and negotiations. He, too, works with clients in the public and private sector in several other coaching specialties.

Mr. Henderson took on the challenge of coaching after serving for decades as a mentor. Coaching allows him to help clients obtain a realistic goal and/or expectation within a constructed time period.

Coaching combines Mr. Henderson’s many years of leadership and management with his training in investigations and interrogations. He is known for asking laser directed questions while simultaneously incorporating the fundamental tool of coaching of “remaining curious.” This particular coaching method helps to pinpoint the issue and those factors that are preventing the client from moving forward.

Mr. Henderson received specialized training in the following topics: Dealing with Difficult People and Situations, Project Management, Stress Management in the Workplace, Time and Priority Management at Work, Public Speaking, Interview Skills and CV Writing, and Life Coaching.

J.R. Purvis is a leadership coach, entrepreneur, and international speaker with 20+ years of leadership experience motivating people and organizations to achieve excellence.

Beginning his career in Washington, D.C. in politics, he served on numerous political campaigns and worked in both the U.S. House of Representatives and on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
In his most recent post, he worked on the Senate Leadership staff, advising U.S. Senators.

Currently, he is a professor and transformational leadership coach dedicated to using social psychology to inspire action and help advance a global network of people and communities who want to architect a better world where humankind works quietly together to make a positive noise.

J.R. has a master’s degree in Organizational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also graduated with honors from Howard University, receiving bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Political Science.

He is an avid traveler and cigar aficionado, speaks English and Spanish fluently, and often volunteers as a Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. member. He also enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three sons.
